Cage Width

WIDTH . . AN IMPORTANT ISSUE

The most important dimension in a cage is width. Tall and narrow cages may look nice, but it doesn’t make it possible for birds to fly and move in their natural style, which is side to side not up and down. (As Brian Speer D.V.M. says in his great new book “Birds for Dummies” They are not a helicopter.) Birds prefer horizontal space, not vertical, as well as climbing up and down in their cages.

When shopping for a cage, check the inside cage dimensions to see just what you are actually getting for your money. These inside dimensions are what will really make up your parrots home.
